Internship Program
The Texas Facilities Commission's Internship Program provides students with an excellent opportunity to become involved in state government and serve fellow Texans, while gaining valuable work experience in a variety of fields.
The primary duties of an intern consist of:
¨ Performing support work for the program area
¨ Conducting research
¨ Preparing correspondence, reports, forms, and other documents
¨ Assisting with special projects
The Texas Facilities Commission offers interns the opportunity to choose from several different program areas based upon the educational goals and experience of the applicant. These include:
¨ Governmental Relations
¨ Communications
¨ Fiscal Operations
¨ Human Resources
¨ Facility Design and Construction
¨ State Leasing/Property Management
¨ Facilities Management
¨ Legal Services
How to apply
To participate in the Texas Facilities Commission's Internship Program, students must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and must have successfully completed at least 12 semester hours of college coursework.
Interested students must complete the State of Texas application at www.workintexas.com. Inquiries may be directed to 512/463-3433 or submitted electronically at employment@tfc.texas.gov.The deadlines for applying are as follows:
Summer Internship—June 1 – August 31 Deadline—May 1
Fall Internship—September 1 – December 31 Deadline—August 15
Spring Internship—January 2 – May 31 Deadline—December 15
Internships are paid positions. Participants may also obtain college internship credit at most colleges and universities, where applicable.
