The mission and purpose of the Preventative Maintenance team is to provide a combination of preventative and predictive maintenance with an optimum mix of preventative maintenance (preset schedule) and a predictive maintenance (actual condition of the equipment) aimed at the prevention of breakdowns and failures. Preventative maintenance is targeted at preserving and enhancing equipment reliability by replacing worn components and lubricating the different elements of a system before they actually fail. TFC's Preventative Maintenance activities include equipment checks, partial or complete overhauls at specified periods, oil changes, and lubrication to name a few. In addition, the Preventative Maintenance Team records equipment deterioration so there is knowledge/history of potential failures or worn parts before they cause system failure. Predictive maintenance measures equipment for degradation and closely monitors and predicts when it will fail while still getting service from the equipment.
